As someone who wants to, at some point, get into programming applications for mobile devices (such as the iPhone) ranting about Apple probably isn't a great idea. However, Apple's latest devolution of technology just seems plain crazy.
Apple has patented an idea which proposes to disable the iPhone / iPod cameras from recording / taking pictures when at concerts etc, or automatically add watermarks onto the image by using sensors to detect where the concert is and attaching the appropriate watermark. This is completely ridiculous, there is no need for this; it's completely about money, because they can then sell the technology to venues across the world.
Granted, all that's registered is a patent, this doesn't mean they're guaranteed to make it. But if they do, i think it will be immensely unpopular amongst customers and force customers to switch to other smart-phones or just bring a video camera along (Which we all know is a bitch, because that sort of stuff tends to get broken, stolen or lost at concerts especially amongst mosh pits or swarms of fangirls trying to push past you to get to the front.)
Personally I think it's an awful idea, what's your opinion?
